Our group painted inside our local greenhouse today to escape the rain. It was a challenge to keep it simple and not get carried away with too much information.
My friend Richard LaMartina was a wonderful person and nature photographer. I am thinking of him on this picture perfect day and thought I would post the painting I did for his fundraiser event in tribute. RIP.
I hung my newest work up in my studio to see how everything is relating to each other. This is the right side with landscapes and misc. I didn't take a picture yet, but portraits are on the left.
Christine Larson was born into a family where creativity was encouraged and supported. Chris is fascinated with the emotions connected to color. “I begin a piece by choosing the dominant “mood” color. As I paint, I stay open to new directions the painting may take. I know the painting is done when all of the lights and darks are in, and the final “spark” is there.” She strives to convey on paper or canvas her interpretation of the unseen forces connecting all things. “In my studio work, I tend to place figures in an otherworldly dream landscape. In my Plein Air landscapes, I often try to show Nature’s vibrations as I experienced them, through the use of color and the ever changing effect outdoor light has on it."
