"These two canoers were captured in the background of a photograph I took of my children playing on the riverbank.  I was struck by their paddling in unison  .......... gently down the stream."

Tree Energy

watercolor
My friend Richard LaMartina was a wonderful person and nature photographer.  I am thinking of him on this picture perfect day and thought I would post the painting I did for his fundraiser event in tribute.  RIP.

Backyard Garden

I started a new painting of my backyard neighbor from 1994. He was a farmer his whole life and when he sold the cows and moved to town, he treated his garden like he was still farming. His wife would bring him lemonade and they would sit under the tree and watch the garden grow. My plan is to take photos as I go to show the process, but sometimes I get caught up and forget to snap a picture until I am finished.
Almost everything 'not green' is done. The rest will be a trick to keep separate...

Beloit paintings

I came across these older paintings while organizing my emails.  Apparently, I didn't have my camera ready and my fellow painting friend did.  I almost forgot about these because they sold right away.
